AppAdvice App Reviews

This used to be one of my favorite Apps. Lately as I scroll down the page, I see the same articles over and over. How many times do I need to see an article on Bluetooth speakers under $50? Today it must have appeared at least 8 times as I scrolled down. This really needs to be updated...the sooner the better.

I used to use this app all the time, now I cringe when I think of opening it. Its been two years since the developers claimed they are working on a redesign. The app looks like its from iOS 5. Terrible. Maybe one day the developers will care about their readers and make a customer friendly app. Until then, Im not using it anymore...

On my iPad, I opened this app every single day and read the contents. I have 15 other Apple people to whom I forward stories; that might be useful to them as they are newbies. Now I do not have the opportunity; because the ability to forward the email is gone as far as I can see??? I refuse to use Facebook and will never use Facebook. I have no need to be social with the world. But, 15 other people will be absent from your app.

Ive used this app for few years. It serves up an up-to-date superficial regurgitation of the latest Apple news, which is good. And its a place for quick reviews of new apps, more valuable as a "hey look! This app exists", than for the quality of the reviews themselves. For an app focused on the quality of apps youd think they wouldve updated the UI sometime in the last few years, but they havent. It therefore feels a bit dated, but its not awful. A bigger problem is that you should expect to see this message semi-regularly: "We couldnt load this content because of an error. Go Back" when either tapping on a story or following a link from within their stories. (Do the dev use there own app?) Its annoying and demonstrates low quality but its not bad enough to keep me from using it. Use-case is a two minute skim through, a few times a week.

AppAdvice has been a go to resource for me since the day I bought my first iPad 1. In the beginning it was because there were no other media resources out there that were as all-encompassing as AppAdvice. Now, of the 20 + publications I peruse on a daily basis, they are the first and most in-depth read of the day. Besides the fact that they cover more than games or business Apps, their honesty is refreshing in a world where the all mighty dollar dictates what is written about. I also realized recently that it doesnt simply appeal to techies such as myself, but to the youngest generation. My 7, 8 and 11 year old children each now read AppAdvice. When a publication crosses the generation boundary like that you can rest assured they are the premiere App Technology publication in circulation. This used to be a great app but thats long since gone. Dont waste your time. Im deleting it today.

It never really matched up to the website. It used to be a decent mobile version. But now it looks like it is on its last legs. Are we seeing apponomics in action? Only time will tell.

Its great for meditation. I get grey blank screens, or lots of Oops Cant Find That, try again later. By the time I realize nothings happening, Im asleep.

I used to love this app, but today I deleted it. Broken links abound, load times are slow, and recommendations are not updated. For example, the Office Apps list includes Dropboxs Mailbox app, which is no longer supported, and the podcast app list omits Overcast, which is one of the best, and its over a year old. This tells me the folks at App Advice are not interested in keeping their content up to date. Its a shame. It was a great resource back in the day.

The news feed has stopped updating. I get about one page of news and then it repeats over and over. This used to be one of my fav news apps.

I am a big fan of this app and had it for a long while, however with the latest update, all things went haywire. It is slow to update articles, most importantly, I no longer can see older articles. The latest articles keep repeating, as I scroll down, over and over, which is quite annoying. I hope there is an update real soon.

I certainly have seen some changes in AppAdvice recently. For example, the format of items has changed, it loads faster and it crashes less. However, I dont see how to open an item in Safari so that I can bookmark it ... I used to be able to do that. Is there a way to do that now?

Used to be a useful app, but has been broken for months. For a while it just crashed when launched but now it just repeats the same content as you scroll. Since support has stopped it has become all but useless and Ive now deleted it. Sad.

Nice app with a lot of great information about Apple and IOS but it is going on 4 years now without an update and lately the app has been very buggy and just seems to scroll through the same articles repeatedly now. They keep promising an update but it is just hard to believe it anymore.

Huge Bug. My articles currently recycle over & over. Will only go back a day or two then it reloads & shows the new articles again. Cant get older articles beyond 1 or 2 days. Used to be MUCH better.

Appadvice has been having more & more issues. First the Featured Bar doesnt work at all any more. Then many of the articles were blank & wouldnt open. Now the main window started going blank shortly after you open the app. This app is now basically dysfunctional. This is from a service that reviews other apps. Really poor! Update, the problems continue! You can at least open the app but numerous articles come up blank, requiring one to read the web version. Come on AppAdvice, you Really should be better than this!

And better appselections. Mostly for kids under 12

My favorite app, now it keeps disconnecting, fails to launch stories, or even freezes when trying to launch a story. You guys need to fix this ASAP.

Super informative. Love this app... Read it daily.
